PRAISE FOR DANIEL KURTZMAN

"You should pick up this book before your next dinner party."
Gayle King, editor-at-large of O, The Oprah Magazine and host of "The Gayle King Show" on Oprah and Friends

"Daniel Kurtzman doesn't have a political axe to grind. He has two axes to grind. And he does it with the sharpest wit seen in these bipartisan parts for quite some time. Crisscrossing the aisle with wicked glee; no matter which book you finish first, you'll immediately want to run out and get the other one to discover what he said about your side. Just remember to wear a disguise."
Will Durst, political satirist and author of The All-American Sport of Bipartisan Bashing

"No one knows political satire like Daniel Kurtzman."
Andy Borowitz, creator of The Borowitz Report and author of The Republican Playbook

"When the folks over at JibJab are looking for a fair and balanced laugh, Daniel Kurtzman's our guy. His How to Win a Fight with a Liberal / Conservative will have you in stitches regardless of your political affiliation!"
Gregg Spiridellis, co-founder of JibJab.com

1Another Republican book with zero substanceFeb 14, 2010
The author quotes, "The only time Republicans go wrong is when they have lost sight of their conservative values like fiscal discipline or spending restraint." OR...when they pander to corporate interests and trump the democratic process by voting no to everything or when they deregulate huge corporate entities that rob the american public by selling them bad mortgages and then short the stock or how about when they create lies to such as death panels to confuse the public or perhaps when they put tremendous pressure on our President to "Drill Baby Drill" only to turn around and bail when their transparent corporate pandering is a disastrous failure.
When has a republican presidency been fiscally disciplined or showed restraint in spending? The only difference is that they spend on WAR and FIXING IRRESPONSIBLE CORPORATE BEHAVIOR!! Another silly book that is written to cause greater divisions in our politics.

5INFORMATION - POLITICALSep 23, 2009
Don't do much arguing about politics any longer. Got me in trouble with a couple of my daughters. Good read, and packed with factual information. .

1Not funny, not informative, not recommendedFeb 19, 2009
I wanted some politcal humor that was both witty and thought-provoking. When I saw this book and its companion, I thought it might well be that, and bought it sight unseen. BIG MISTAKE. This book merely dredges up all the worst slander in politics, stereotyping every argument, point of view and individual into an image so extreme that it resmbles no one (and thus avoid being offensive). The companion volume does the EXACT SAME in reverse. They are so formulaic that if you read both you will literally be reading the same book just with certain words flipped or replaced with the other extreme.

That all would be tolerable if the formula was funny. It isn't. The entire time I only remember perhaps one or two small, fleeting smirks. Indeed I remember being annoyed most of the time and just wanting the thing to be over so I could move onto a more worthwhile project.

I can't even say that the book was particularly ORIGINAL. Almost everything said in this and its companion can be heard in a half hour of listening to Rush Limbaugh/Ann Coulter or Al Franken/James Carville. Only they would be wittier about it.
